I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the Covey family. Mrs. Covey served as the crossing guard at the corner of Ames and Lowell Streets when I was a boy, and she always greeted me warmly and with a kind word as I walked back and forth to the Bruce school. As a young man, I worked at Langevin's Pharmacy, located across the street from St. Augustine's church, where we often talked. Lastly, I was a good friend of her daughter Judith who attended St. Augustine's school with many of my tower hill boyhood friends. I regret I was unable to attend Mrs. Covey's services. I shall always remember her for the warmth & kindness she showed me and my little sister Barbara when we were young. Sincerely, Richard Shine
Although your sadness is great today, I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that your Mom is safe and happy, enjoying her heavenly reward and wrapped gloriously in the love of her God and family which she has so devotedly served. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Dear Ann, When I was down in North Andover recently, I picked up the Tribune and saw your mother's picture. I thought back to when we worked together at the Arlington Trust, and I remembered all the wonderful( and very funny) stories you shared about your mom and siblings. It sounded like such a happy household-I envied you all the closeness you seemed to have. It is very easy to see in her picture what a happy person your mom was, and in reading about what she did with her life, it was obvious religion played a major part in it. I'm sure her faith gave her strength and comfort, especially toward the end of her life, and also direction when she was a young wife and mother, raising a large family. I hope you will all share memories of the happiest times with each other and that the healing process will be swift and thorough for you and your extended family. With sincere sympathy, Jane (Sheehan) Hartnett
To Judy Covey Smith, Please accept my sincerest sympathy for the passing of your Mom. I'll remember you and your family in my prayers.
Dear Family: Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. I offered my mass and communion in her memory this morning. I have many fond memories of your mother ("Pic") and your father (Red). My mother and father (Ann&Stubby Sulivan) were very good friends of your parents. I'm sure they are renewing their friendships already. May they rest in peace. Love, Jane(Cissie)Sullivan Heggarty
