Margaret was my 8th grade teacher twenty years ago. We shared the same birthday (March 11th). For many years after I graduated SJA, she'd send me a birthday card with a funny comment about how we were both getting older. She'll always be part of SJA's DNA. You'll be missed, Ms. Fitzgerald.

I am sending sincere sympathy to Miss Fitzgerald's family. She was my 8th grade teacher over 2 decades ago, but her enthusiasm for teaching and for the SJA community (indeed some of her lessons from religion class) stand out in my memory. She was a passionate, organized, calm, quiet, fun, creative, relatable teacher, and it was TRULY always a joy to be a part of her classroom. Miss. Fitzgerald is a special person, and I know that I will not be the only student who remembers her with a smile in my heart. May God bless her and may God bless you as her family. (She often spoke of you all with such kindness and closeness...she had a lot of love for you all.)
With deep sympathy,

Margaret was such a wonderful person, and friend. Love her. She will be missed.
Dear Anne and family I'm so very sorry for your loss. So sad for everyone. God bless all of you. You have a beautiful family I'm fortunate to have met Margaret. Your mom welcomed her with open arms. Sincerely Lise

Dear Ann, Bill, Mary and Family and Friends of Margaret,
Margaret was simply the kindest and most generous person I have ever met in my life. I spent hours laughing and talking with Margaret in high school. She took such good care of us all. She was always there. Always kind. Always helpful. Always wise.
I remember once in high school Margaret was driving me home after an event. It was dark and raining hard and we got lost. I shared her with my theory that when you are lost you should continue to drive in a straight line and eventually you will come to something you know or a sign that will point you in the right direction. So, Margaret, chuckling at me and shaking her head in disbelief at my silliness, drove in a straight line for miles, and yes, we eventually came to a point we recognized. We laughed and shouted in triumph together. She was thrilled one of my crazy ideas actually worked and I was shocked she believed in me enough to give it try. But of course she did. She was Margaret.
Just last week, I picked up a small statue that I keep on a bookshelf in my office. It was given to me by Margaret many, many years ago. I held the statue and remembered Margaret and her kindness. It sits in front of me now as I type this note of remembrance...
I am deeply sorry to hear of her passing. My heart is heavy. You have my deepest sympathy.
Margaret truly left to all who knew her a legacy of love - the legacy of a life well lived.
Ann I am so sorry to hear of Margarets passing. I have a lot of fond memories of her from our days on Tower Hill. You and your family are in my prayers.

Dear Ann, Billy, Mary and Family, I am saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. Many a late night was spent gathered around my family's kitchen table sharing lots of laughs when we were in high school. Margaret's light shone brightly and her kindness and ability to listen and empathize were gifts.
My deepest sympathy,
Margaret Small
