Madeline A. Fontaine's Obituary
Madeline A. (Girard) Fontaine, 84, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of the late Louis and Alphonsine (Belisle) Girard , Madeline was born in Fairfield, VT and educated in the Vermont schools
Madeline was a long time active member of Saint Michael's Parish. Religious education was important to her and she made sure all of her 9 children attended St Michael's . When her kids were young she could often be found baking double batches of treats or reading to the younger kids using different voices for the characters. She warmly welcomed all of her children's friends to her home. As they grew she welcomed son in laws and daughter-in-laws. She was always thrilled to meet or hear of new grand children or great grandchildren. She held some jobs outside the home as the children were older which she worked hard at, however it was clear she held her most important jobs to be that of mother, wife and grandmother. She readily made friends and enjoyed their company as well.
