The 1st Christmas that I worked at WCCM/WCGY, the bosses passed out a company gift to the full time employees. Because I was only part-time, I didn't receive a gift. Jimi mentioned that to his mother and Lee was nice enough to give me the gift that she received.
I don't really remember what the gift was - it may have been a key chain or other company swag.But her gift mad me feel like I was part of the work family at the radio station.
Later that week, I heard that the same thing happened to another new employee. I felt bad giving away Lee's gift but felt that she would have wanted that person to also feel included.I remember he was very appreciative and that small action made him feel like he belonged.
I'm sure over her lifetime Lee's acts of kindness touched countless lives. I will always remember what she did for me.
