Lorraine Marie Lynch's Obituary
Lorraine Marie (Hamel) Lynch, a former resident of North Andover, Lawrence and Methuen, passed into the arms of the Lord on September 11th, 2022 in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Lorraine was born on February 12, 1932, to Edward J. Hamel and Mary L. (Lavoie) Hamel of Amesbury, Mass. She attended St. Lawrence O'Toole grammar school and graduated from St. Mary High School, Lawrence, Mass., in 1950. She married John F. Lynch, a plumber and the future owner of John F. Lynch Plumbing Co., of Methuen in 1954. They were happily married for 47 years and enjoyed travel, ballroom dancing, skiing and boating at their second home in New Hampshire.
Lorraine loved and was loved by her grandparents, 22 aunts and uncles, and many cousins. She was the loving and generous aunt of three generations of Lynch and Hamel nieces and nephews. She was a constant, generous, and helpful presence at family celebrations, and particularly enjoyed Christmas.
A lifelong Catholic, Lorraine worshipped at St. Patrick Parish in Lawrence, Mass., and St. Michael’s Parish in North Andover. She was an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins and enjoyed the music of Josh Groban.
Lorraine held a variety of positions at the Massachusetts Electric Company over a 41-year career. She made lifelong friends among her classmates and Mass Electric colleagues and treasured the friendships she made late in life at Brightview North Andover.
Lorraine’s family is deeply appreciative of the work of the staff at Brightview North Andover, Waltham Crossings and by Caring Hospice.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother Raymond Hamel, and in-laws Ethel and Jozsef Putz, Jean Lynch and Marie Lynch. She is survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law Elizabeth and Raymond Bolduc of Haverhill, Charles Lynch of Falmouth, Maine, Joe Lynch of North Andover and Richard Lynch and his wife Brenda of Methuen.
A visitation will be held at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home in North Andover, Mass. at 10:00 am on Wednesday September 14, 2022, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Church, North Andover, at 11:30 am and internment at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Andover.
