She was born in 1931 in Lawrence, Ma to William and Selma Habib. She later moved to Methuen, Ma where she resided for the majority of her life. Lorraine graduated from Lawrence High School in 1949. She later went on to attend Burdett College in Boston, Massachusetts where she was a member of the Theta Epsilon Sorority Burdett Banner and graduated in 1952 with a degree in Stenography.
Lorraine was a stenographer at the Lawrence District Courthouse and was employed there for the duration of her career. She also attended Saint Anthony’s Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts and stayed very active in social functions in the community. She was a real social butterfly; she knew everyone in the Merrimack Valley and everyone knew her.
She was the youngest of six, and loving sister to the late Florence, George, Alphonse, Joseph, and Raymond Habib. She had one niece, Mary Lee “Habib” Paré and several nephews, Michael Habib, Joel Habib, and the late William and John Habib. She was very close to her niece Mary Lee; she was like the daughter she never had. They did many things and went many places together, and also 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
Unfortunately, in 2017 Lorraine developed Dementia and began treatment at Nevins Nursing home where she lived for the remainder of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at Nevins Nursing Home for their commitment in caring for Auntie Lorraine. Lorraine, you may be gone from this earth, but you will always remain in our hearts.
