Kenneth A. Lambert's Obituary
Kenneth A. Lambert passed away April 13 at his home due to complications with Alzheimer's, with his loving wife of 38 years beside him. He was born in Needham to R. Alfred and Elsie (Briggs) Lambert. The family moved to North Andover where he attended local schools and graduated from Johnson High School.
Ken served in the navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Isherwood where he maintained the sonar equipment. During that time he explored Japan and the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brothers David and Wayne.
Ken was employed as an AV expert and technical writer at Raytheon, Compugraghic and retired from Agva Gavert.
Ken loved the ocean and exploring beaches on both coasts with his family. He could often be found driving the coast with them in the dead of winter, stopping to see the surf at favorite overlooks and exploring wharfs and lighthouses. The family vacationed at Pine Point, ME and took the grandtwins to explore. Travel was a hobby from Hawaii, west and east coast, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. Ken never saw a beach he didn't like.
Gardening was another love. He showed son Mat how to grow food, flowers and how to fix things. He shared his bounty with all.
His family was his greatest love and he will be sorely missed by them all. Many lived on the same street.
He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret (Phelan) Lambert, son Mat Lambert, daughters Kelly Morin of Dracut, Virginia Lambert and son Scott Lambert of Pelham NH. Grandchildren Andrew Morin, Paula Martin and husband Andy with great grandson Devin of Dracut, in laws Mary and Don Stewart, niece Cindy Cluney, and nephew Jeff Stewart of North Andover and other wonderful nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, No. Andover, MA. www.breenfuneralhome.com.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spectrum Adult Day Health Program at North Andover, 1820 Turnpike Street, Suite 106, North Andover, MA 01845 and to Alzheimer’s Home Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
