Kathleen M. Pearse's Obituary
Kathleen M. (Byron) Pearse, 75, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital on May 30, 2022, after many years of declining health. Born and raised in Lawrence, Kathleen attended St. Augustine’s School. She attended Our Lady of Nazareth Academy for high school, followed by Castle Junior College for secretarial courses. She married her high school sweetheart Arthur and took joy in raising a family with him. Kathy worked for the North Andover School lunch program as a secretary for 25 years before retiring. She was extremely talented at all crafts, but enjoyed quilting most of all. She was a long time member of the Merrimack Valley Quilters Guild and enjoyed creating quilts and planning quilting getaways with the girls. Kathy enjoyed traveling and cruising and shared many adventures with her husband and extended family. Countless wonderful memories were made in Aruba, where she enjoyed annual vacations. She enjoyed frequent trips to Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, and most recently Encore - she loved the slots and was known to have great luck. Family and faith were the most important things to Kathleen and they were always her top priority. She will be sadly missed.
Kathy was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Pearse, with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Szettella and her husband Stephen of Methuen, son Arthur F. Pearse of Derry, NH, daughter Karen Smith of Colorado, and grandson Joseph Pearse-Barbara of Methuen, who she raised as her own. She also leaves her grandchildren Bryan Szettella of Haverhill, and Kayla Pacheco and her wife Brooke, of Salem, NH.
Her family would like to thank her many caregivers at Nevins, where she resided most recently, with a special shout out to Juana.
