With deepest sympathy in your loss.
There is so much I would like to say about Kay and her wonderful family. She was my next door neighbor on Allston Street. Even though times were hard, I always felt welcome in that house. Kay was like a sister to me. I have so many memories that it is difficult to recount them all here. I remember spending long summers laughing and playing with Kay at her house. At dinner time, I'd help Kay and her mother figure out how to transform meager wartime rations into a satisfying meal for a huge family and myself. Afterwards, Kay and I would wash the dishes together. I was so afraid of the War and my brothers' wellbeing on the Front in those days. Just getting to spend time washing those dishes with Kay made me forget my worries and the dark times we all faced. Even though they had their own hardships Kay and the Melia's took me in, and made me feel loved and cared for when times were tough for me and my family. I will never forget Kay, and the Melia's and all they did for me. May God rest you Kay.
My prayers are with the whole family.
Sorry to read of Kathy's death. I am in Hawaii with my sister and can't visit personally. I will remember her in my daily prayers. Sincerely, Suzanne
