Kathleen Anne (McCarthy) Borys' Obituary
Mrs. Kathleen A. Borys, 77, passed away on August 25, 2020 at her home. Born in Lawrence on November 12th 1942, she was the daughter of Eugene and Anne McCarthy. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s and Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline, MA. Kathleen was an employee of the Lawrence public schools for over 20 years. She began teaching at the Frost and then Bruce school before becoming Assistant Principal. She was principal of the Lawlor and Leonard schools and then in Georgetown. She finished her career in Lowell as a reading specialist. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick’s and then St. Michael’s in North Andover. She loved playing 45’s, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying her home in North Conway. Of course, how could we forget her favorite hobby cleaning. Kathleen was predeceased by her wonderful husband of 34 years, W. Stephen Borys. Together they were owners of the Calumet Tavern in Lawrence. She is survived by her 3 children: Stephen M. Borys of North Andover, Jay Borys and his wife Kimberly of Shrewsbury, MA and Jeff Borys of North Andover. Additionally, 4 grandchildren; Colby, Tyler, Hailey and Ashley. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Daniel McCarthy and Kevin McCarthy and sister Anne Marie Lambert and her husband Jim. As well as sisters in law Sandra Gibbons and Donna Dubois and husband Dave and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. in Saint Michael Church, 196 Main Street, No. Andover, Mass. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery also in No. Andover, Mass.
