Joseph "Joey" Phillip Getchell's Obituary
Joseph “Joey” Phillip Getchell, age 31, of Methuen, MA, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, due to pneumonia brought on by diabetic complications. He departed this world comfortably surrounded by his loving family.
He was born, lived, and was educated in Methuen MA.
Joey, a great friend, avid golfer, and billiard aficionado, had the most vivacious spirit. His charm and contagious personality brought joy to all that were fortunate enough to have known him. A man of many talents, Joey accomplished much in his short life. His greatest achievement was returning to school and later being accepted into the IUOE Local 4 union as a crane operator, a feat he was deeply proud of. His passing will leave a tremendous void in our hearts.
Joey, or Uncle JoeJoe as he was lovingly called by his niece and nephew, is survived by: his parents, Emily (Solomon) and Timothy Getchell; his brother Christopher Getchell and his wife Eileen and their children, Emilia and Ethan; his sister Brittany Getchell and her fiancé Andrew Eskel; and his beloved dogs, Frank and Riley, along with several aunts, uncles, and dear cousins.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St, Lawrence, MA 01841. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Maronite Church of Lawrence. PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CHURCH. Burial to follow at St Anthony’s Maronite Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
