Joseph "Joe" Daniel Brock Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph (Joe) Daniel Brock, Jr., 89, of Salem, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29th, 2024 at the Greystone Farm in Salem.
Joe was born in Framingham on September 5th, 1934 to the late Joseph D. and Eva M. (Hogan) Brock. He was educated in the Everett Schools and was a graduate of Everett High School. He served two tours of Duty for the United States Army.
Joseph was a parishioner at both Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH. and St John the Evangelist Parish in Hopkinton, MA. He was a proud member of the Teamsters. While working for Bardon Trimount of Saugus MA as a Tack Truck Driver he spend much time in the quarry where the gravel and asphalt were stored. He repaired his own highway equipment which was unusual for drivers. His close co-worker and friend Chuck Kapela, said watching him operate certain paving equipment was like “watching a symphony”
Joe worked on developing land and building communities in NH with his brother Tom. His bond with his brother Tom was remarkably wonderful.
Joe and his wife Alice enjoyed winters in Lake Wales, Florida, where fishing was his favorite pastime. He also took pride in keeping his properties in excellent repair, doing most of the work himself. He was an avid hunter in his early days, enjoying many hunting trip in Maine with his beloved dad.
Joe was predeceased by his wives Alice (Franklin) Brock who died in 2021 and Mary (Galbiati) Brock who died in 2003. He was also predeceased by his younger brothers: Charles John Brock (Johnny); Robert Brock (Bobby) and Thomas P. Brock (Tommy). He is survived by his dear sister-in-law Janet Brock, wife of his beloved brother Tommy; his step-daughters Cynthia Barber & Christina Moorehead; and his niece Susan Brock and her daughter Brinna, who brought much joy to Joe's Life; as well as many other nieces & nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM at St John the Evangelist Parish, 20 Church St., Hopkinton, MA on August 14, 2024. Immediately following, a burial will take place in Saint John's Cemetery in Hopkinton. MA.
