Mr. Joseph Donald Hackney's Obituary
Joseph Donald Hackney, 89, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born in Franklin, NH, Joseph came to Lawrence at an early age and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Grammar School, Central Catholic High School and Merrimack College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was retired from Raytheon where he had worked as a Budget Analyst. Joseph was a Korean War Air Force Veteran from 1951 to 1953 where he obtained the rank of Sergeant. He had belonged to the Raytheon Bowling and Golf Leagues and was an attendant of St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence.
Members of Joseph’s family include his wife of 59 years, Theresa L. (Halloran) Hackney, his daughter Ann Cipkins and her husband Len of New Jersey, a son Michael Hackney and his wife Donna of Plaistow, NH, as well as 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and other extended family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s name to the High Pointe Hospice House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA, 01830.
