Joseph S. Boren's Obituary
Joseph S. Boren has gone home. He was born September 27, 1941 at Boston Lying-In. He was known by the nickname Duke, given to him by his grandmother. He is predeceased by his mother, father, step-father and sister.
He graduated fromTenney High School in 1960. Sports were a big part of his life, especially football. He played football for THS in the Center position. In his senior year he was selected by the Boston Record American to their All American team. Due to a knee injury, he played semi pro football for a short period of time. He was a gifted artist and amateur boxer. He could be seen running in the streets of Lawrence or swimming across Forest Lake in Methuen all times of the year. He was known to place a bet on professional sporting events and could tell you where to find a bookie.
He is survived by a brother, sister, children, grandchildren and numerous cousins, aunts & uncles.
In lieu of contributions, light a white candle to shine bright, feed, clothe or give someone shelter in his memory. Services will be held at the convenience of the family
