Uncle John was truly a member of the "Greatest Generation". He was always sweet, loving, and kind. I would often see him at the cemetery taking on the responsibility of tending the family graves.
My father John Carmody, was his cousin and also a member of the ROMEO club. He loved uncle John dearly and they shared many good times together.
I can picture all of them in heaven, together again, saying "what took you so long John?"
Drinking coffee, laughing and joking before their next round of golf!
May Christ reward you for your many years of faithful service to your family, to the Scouts, and to the Hibernians by giving you a speedy pass through the gates to Heaven. May your soul rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of caregiving for John for a short time in his home this year. John was one of the most charismatic, happy go lucky loving and giving of himself to anyone who walked through his door. The stories he told of his life were inspirational to say the least! His family he often said was his Life. The world would be a wonderful happy place if we had more of John' in it. You will be missed and remembered John.
