Dear Family,
I had the privilege of knowing and working with John at Merrimack Valley Hospice from 1990 to 1999. John was a very nice man and a great Social Worker. He taught me a lot. As a new Hospice Nurse I was anxious about visiting patients in the projects ofLawrence. John advised me to go early in the morning because the drug addicts would be sleeping. Being a new kayaker in the Merrimack River and unfamiliar with the buoys John’s advice was “ red, right, return.” I think of him fondly whenever I paddle there. John always had great stories and a twinkle in his eye. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people. He always remained calm, kept things in perspective and was very supportive. He was a good man. Thinking of him makes me smile. I’m sorry for your loss.
With Sympathy,
Paul Proulx
