John Nault's Obituary
John E. Nault born 10-23-47 of Plum Island, Beverly, and Methuen. Parents Chester R. Nault (Methuen)
and Lorraine D. M. Theberge (Lawrence).
Attended Methuen schools, graduated Tenney High School class of 1965. President of the band and
played at the World’s Fair (NYC) in 1965. Involved in Talent shows, and Senior class play, and remained
active in all class reunions.
Achieve rank of Eagle Scout, awarded “Raymond G Chomby” for most outstanding Scout of the year, and
Order of the Arrow, Troup 57 Stephen Barket school.
John attended SMTI and graduated from Northern Essex C.C. and Southern N.H. college in business.
He played pond hockey (Mill Pond) until joining M.V. local league and played for the Lawrence Blades for
many years.
Active in community groups including the Methuen Associates, Haverhill Wednesday night Literary and
Social Society, and the Wilmington All Stars and Motor Kings.
An avid hunter and fisherman, member of the NRA, DU, and past secretary of Merrimack Valley Stripers
Club.
John owned many boats, for over 20 years he cruised the NE coast in a two masted wooden schooner
(Priority) and was a member of Jubilee Yacht Club (Beverly), His last boat was a 36’ trawler (Sea
Venture), a great cruising yacht and lived aboard for the summer for over 30 years.
His professional career started at DASA corp. Western Electric, Honeywell, Printer Tech, General Electric,
and EPC Laboratories. He started his own contract manufacturing business in 1984, N&N Manufacturing
Inc and has been in business for 40 years. He started building medical equipment used in operating
rooms, oceanographic systems most known for the discovery of the Titanic and Bismark. Many military
contracts building robots, border security, missile defense, and classified equipment.
His largest loss was Louise Quintal his life partner for over thirty years, who passed in August 2019.
He leaves an ex-wife Susan Duncan and Ed Gentley (Pennsylvania) and ex-wife Nancy Burke
(Connecticut). Two children, Christopher Nault and wife Emily, two grandsons Paul and Cole. A daughter
Carolyn Knight and husband Donn, and three grandchildren Lincoln, Garrett, and Amaya.
A special thank you for his best friend, Steve Jewett who was always there to help, especially in times of
failing health.
