Dear Pat, Gillian, Alexandra and Louisa: I just received word of John's unexpected passing. It has been a priviledge to have worked with him earlier this year. In this small office, John filled it with life. When his assignment was over, his absence was striking. Now, in his passing, he leaves an emptiness that is hard to explain. If he were here today, he would put us all at ease with a joke, a quick one-liner, a chuckle and tell us to move on. He spoke about all of you, adoringly, every day at lunch time. While John?s premature departure from this earth saddens all of us greatly, his legacy and shining example of selflessness will remain indefinitely with all of us that were blessed enough to have known him. His soft spoken voice, quick wit, and joyful sense of humor will be remembered by his family, friends, and business colleagues alike. Many of us have much yet to learn from his gentle generosity, servant leadership, outstanding integrity, and his encouragement of others. He has set the bar high for those of us that survive him, on how to grow with, sacrifice for, and love our families, as he has done.
