Joanne H. Shaughnessy-Algiers' Obituary
Joanne Helene (Doucette) Shaughnessy of Salem, NH, formerly of North Andover, MA, died on Sunday August 21 at Tufts Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Joanne fought yet another courageous battle when she had a heart transplant in February 2022. She was unable to overcome all of the medical obstacles this battle handed her. Joanne was the loving wife of David Algiers who has been by her side the entire time.
Joanne was born on November 18, 1962 in Medford, MA the daughter of Albert L. and Helen (Coniglio) Doucette. At the age of 10 Joanne’s mother passed away. She then moved to Revere, MA and was raised by her Godmothers Anna Bifulco, Beatrice Ryan and her husband Tom. Joanne graduated from Revere High and later from Northeastern University with a BS in Computer Science.
Joanne loved to be around family and friends and she loved to entertain and plan parties. She was one of the most caring and giving people you could ever meet and would do anything to make you happy.
In addition to her husband David, she will be sadly missed by children Kelsey of Salem, NH and Michael of Beverly, MA, stepchildren David Jr. of Santa Fe, NM and Jacquelin Algiers of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves behind brothers Leonard Doucette and his wife Carol of Plymouth MA, Paul Doucette and his wife Kathy of North Andover MA, sisters-in-law Elayne Doucette of Saugus MA and Joanne Shaughnessy of West Roxbury MA, sister-in-law Barbara Danforth and her husband Tom of Raynham, MA, Brother-in-law Paul Algiers and his wife Dorothy of Reading, MA and Brother-in-law Robert Algiers of Tewksbury, MA. Many loving Nieces and Nephews as well as Great Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Paul Shaughnessy and brother Robert Doucette.
Joanne will also be missed by so many great and loving friends; they know who they are…
Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. for her Funeral Mass.
