Joan S. (Kutovicz) Mansour's Obituary
Lawrence—Joan S. (Kutovicz) Mansour, 76, of Lawrence, MA passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2022. She was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of Alice (Geary) Kutovicz. After graduating from Lawrence High School in 1963, she began working as a medical secretary for Dr. George J. Mansour on Andover Street in Lawrence. They would marry 10 years later and welcome three children together.
Joan was an exceptional knitter—her beautiful and intricate creations, especially her baby hats and booties, were greatly admired by many. She spent many hours outside, planting flowers in her yard and walking in her neighborhood pushing her English Coach baby carriage. Joan was quick to finish a crossword or Sudoku puzzle and enjoyed watching game shows and the Hallmark channel.
Joan was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and her family. She was a selfless caregiver who exemplified kindness, generosity and strength. Her greatest accomplishment was her family who will remember and love her always. Her pride and joy were her two granddaughters whose visits she looked forward to every week. Her passing will leave a deep void in her family’s hearts. She is truly irreplaceable.
Joan is survived by her three children, Janna Mansour of Lawrence, MA, Christopher Mansour, and his wife Allison, of Needham, MA, and Dr. Kari Mansour of Charlestown, MA, her precious granddaughters Olivia and Daphne Mansour of Needham, MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Dr. George J. Mansour.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 09:30-10:30am at Breen Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St. Lawrence, MA 01841. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to her funeral mass to be offered at 11 am at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844. Burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Methuen will follow. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or www.dana-farber.org/gift
