My heart goes out to the family. Loosing a love one in death is one of lifes most difficult experiences. Knowing that God(Psalms 83:18) understand our pain, and wants to comfort us during times of great distress, has help many to cope successfully. Please read Psalms 34:18, Isaiah 66:13, John 5:28,29. Joan and I worked together @ San Francisco General Hospital. She worked closely with my sister, Rosaleen McGuire-Flynn also. A terrific Nurse and a wonderful friend with a wonder sense of humor. My prayers are with all the family. Love, Mary Anne McGuire-Hickey
Joanie was such a bright, sweet spirit. We will miss her presence in Amarillo, particularly on the arts scene. We are sorry we didn't know her family well, but you are all in our thoughts on Joanie's passing. I have the original of Joanie's will which I prepared in April of 2007 if the family is needing it. To Joan's Family, We learned of Joan's passing last night when we spoke with our dear friend (and Joan's), Tom Lowary. It was our pleasure to know Joan through Tom, and together, we shared many happy times in our home in Pebble Beach, and we four enjoyed numerous fine lunches and dinners at fine, and sometimes, not-so-fine restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula. Joan literally could not take a bad photo, she was so beautiful, but the real secret was that she was beautiful on the inside. Caring, kind, witty, with a zest for life, a positive attitude, and a love for her family, especially the little ones...Joan was the epitome of grace in a petite and lovely woman. We were sad to learn of her death, but will remember always her lesson of being open to making new friends, at any age. A candle is lit in her memory at Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and she will be remembered in our hearts forever. May you be comforted by our prayers and in knowing she will be remembered with a smile. Thank you for including our friend, Tom, in her memorial, that meant a lot to him.

Sorry for the loss of your love one. Words can never express the pain a person goes through when experiening a death of loved one. Just know my prayers will include the family and remember revelation 21:3,4. It is God promise to the whole world that soon death will gone forever and never return. Sorry again for your loss.
