Joan J. (Walsh) Byron's Obituary
Joan J. (Walsh) Byron, 87, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 and greeted her husband, Michael Byron, in heaven.
Joan was born in the Bronx, New York on September 15, 1935 to the late John and Aurelie (Bernard) Walsh. She graduated from Tenney High School in Methuen and later attended McIntosh Business College where she received her Associates Degree. Joan met her husband Michael, who was a Truck Driver for the Truck Driver’s Union, at her job at the Arlington Trust Company. She later went on to work at the Internal Revenue Service as an Administrator. She took pride in the many years of hard work she put in there and she loved helping others.
Joan was very active and always on the go. She walked 3 miles almost every day no matter the weather. It was hard to keep up with her even as a young child! She was also very crafty and creative, and most will remember her by her love for knitting. She loved knitting blankets, scarves, hats, and sweaters; you could feel the love in every stitch.
