Jennie Marino's Obituary
Jennie (Abate) Marino, 97, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her family.
Born in Lawrence, Jennie was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She was retired from the Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen where she had worked in the Dietary Department. Prior to that she had worked for Greico Brothers. Jennie enjoyed bingo and playing cards as well as cooking Italian food. She also used to enjoy traveling with husband before he passed away.
The daughter of the late Antonio and Stella (Paolino) Abate, Jennie was the widow of Sylvester Marino with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter Janet Bowker, her son Richard Marino as well as her grandchildren Tracie Brennan, Heather Marino and Paul Marino. Jennie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sister Josephine Santacroce as well as brothers Joseph Abate, Charles Abate and William Abate.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Entombment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum, 29 Barker St, also in Lawrence. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday prior to the services from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
