Jeffrey J. Dumond's Obituary
Jeffrey J. Dumond of Salem, NH passed away on September 5, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, with his family at his side, after battling a series of medical problems for the past 13 years. Jeffrey was born on March 4, 1971 the son of Richard Dumond and the late Mary (Sidley) Dumond. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass.
Jeffrey's health issues started in 2012 with a serious infection causing him to spend almost two months at Mass General Hospital. During this time he died twice and was brought back by the staff. However, this infection left him with serious medical issues and intense pain that he bravely fought since that time until finally giving in during this last hospitalization. Jeffrey had been residing at the Brigham Manor Nursing and rehab facility for the past year after neck surgery that left him unable to walk. Prior to these medical issues Jeffrey was vigorously involved in the local Democratic Party and worked on the election campaigns of senators and governors from both Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as several presidents many of whom Jeffrey got to know very well as close associates and friends.
He is survived by his father Richard Dumond of Salem, NH and brother Jonathan Dumond of Lawrence, MA. He also leaves behind a very caring and favorite aunt Kathleen Nackley and her companion Thomas Sweeney of Salem, NH Uncle Walter Sidley and his wife Lucille of Salisbury, MA and his Uncle Charles Dumond and his wife Karen of Falmouth, Maine as well as many cousins both locally and around the country.
May he rest in peace, without the pain he faced in this life, amongst the family and friends who departed from this world ahead of him. Services are private and arrangements are under the care of the Breen Memorial Funeral Homes, Inc., Lawrence, MA and North Andover, MA.
