James McAndrew's Obituary
James McAndrew (72) lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, June 15, 2019 surrounded by family at High Point House in Haverhill, MA, He leaves behind his four children: sons James Jr, John and his wife Patricia, and Patrick and daughter Katherine (McAndrew) Benning and her husband Erich along with 8 grandchildren: James III, Andrew, Mary, Patrick, Jacob, Andrea, Ashley, and Alexander and one great-grandchild, Austin. He was predeceased by his parents John and Constance, and his brother John Jr and leaves his four sisters: Constance (Chippie) and her husband Fred, Jacqueline, Patricia, and Helen and her husband Frank along with many nieces and nephews.
James was a US Army veteran (1966-1968) and spent most of his life in Methuen. He was a long time member of The Elks and retired from serving as a Haverhill, MA public transportation bus driver since 1997 after the business he owed in Lawrence with his father, U & I Battery and Ignition, closed.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 in the morning on Friday June 21, 2019 at Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 11 Glenallen St, Winchendon, MA with full military honors. The family welcomes anyone who knew Jim to join them to honor his memory.
