James "Jim" Michael Mahoney's Obituary
James “Jim” Michael Mahoney, 83, formerly of Methuen, MA, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020.
Born in Methuen, MA, Jim was the son of the late Arthur M. and Helen E. (McCarthy) Mahoney. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence O’Toole Grammar School, St. John’s Preparatory School and then went on to graduate from the Massachusetts School of Pharmacy. Jim went to work as a Pharmacist for his father at Mahoney’s Pharmacy in Methuen and eventually became the proprietor. A United States Army Veteran, Jim served during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to his summer home in Kennebunk, Maine as well as his condo in Florida.
The widower of Margaret (Aroonian) Mahoney, family members include his sister: Dr. Sheila Mahoney of Methuen, stepdaughters Lisa of Florida and Laurie of Haverhill, MA, cousins: Carl Journeay and Jill Tozier as well as Anna, Maria and Jamie.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. Social distancing will be followed as well as the wearing of masks.
