Hi Billy and Mary: I want to say that I was very sorry to hear of your mom's loss. She was always very thoughtful and fun to be around. I taught with your mother at the Corliss School from 1970 until her retirement. What a great lady! I remember her Salisbury Beach houses. So sorry. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I began my teaching career as a fourth grade teacher at the Corliss School. We taught together for 4 years before I transferred to another school. Your mom was a great inspiration to me and I have such fond memories of our time together. Her desk was always quite messy and she would often stop by my room at the end of the day and say, "If I don't come in tomorrow...just put a match to my desk". She always made me laugh. May you find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
To the family of Ms. Lavin, Please accept our sympathy on her passing. My son, Greg, was her penpal for over 15 years. They met when he was in 2nd grade and stayed in touch all this time. She always encouraged him to do his best in school. They exchanged holiday cards and Greg sent many photos of himself through the years.I phoned him at college and told him that she had passed.
