Dear Jim and family, Ileen is greatly missed by many who worked with her in the assisted living industry as part of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Facilities Association (Mass-ALFA). In particular, Ileen and I developed and led many training programs to help new professionals become knowledgeable about assisted living. Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. I knew Ilene from a summer or two we spent in Hampton Beach when we were about 12-13. We corresponded for a while but lost touch, but I have never forgotten Ilene and our times at the beach. She was so funny and fun!

We feel so sad for all of you suffering such a large hole in your hearts. Sharing conversations with Ileen was a blessing to me. I was touched that she went down to serve people who had lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Such a beautiful person, she had the knack of making people feel so at ease that it was like they had always known her. It was a joy to see her last June, when she was determined to join our annual association meeting. Despite knowing her for too little time, those times were precious and I will miss her.
