Ida M Thomas' Obituary
Ida M. (Abdallah) (Lahoud) Thomas, 94, of Lawrence passed away peacefully at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home on Monday, January 20, 2020.
Born on May 14, 1925, Ida was raised and educated in Lawrence.
She worked for years at General Electric, Nahill’s Drug Store, and alongside her Aunt Saada in the Arabic kitchen at Bishop’s Restaurant.
Ida loved spending time with and cooking for her family, enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods. She was an active member of St. Anthony Maronite Church and also a member of St. Anthony’s Sodality and Daughters of St. Anthony.
Her family was always the center of her life and she devoted herself to them completely. Ida was predeceased by her son, John, and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Thomas of Methuen; her grandson, John and his wife, Patty Thomas of Salem, NH; her granddaughter Christine and her husband, Bill Ryan of Methuen. She also leaves her precious great-grandchildren, Madelyn Ryan, Joseph Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Ryan Bell and Jonathan Bell, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of Latify (Bashara) and Hassan Abdallah and also predeceased by her husband, Tophie Thomas; brothers, Albert and George Abdallah; and sisters Emily Lahoud and Haseeba Hamman.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 23, 2019 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 122 Amesbury St. Lawrence.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2020 10:00AM in St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St. Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Methuen.
