I always enjoyed chatting with Hart at church. He taught my kids in Sunday School at those toughest ages of 5/6 grades. He always had a kind word of feedback to share with me about how they participated or what good way they interacted with the class that day. I experienced him as cheerful and engaging. About 10 years or so ago, I did a small project for Hart. We had a good time working together and he and his boss at PSI wanted me to join PSI. I could see his talent but I was not looking for a new job. A few years later I met Hart in a technical conference in Albuquerque NM, and again we appreciated each other technical presentations.
Years later, after retiring from PSI, Hart asked to join my company BlazeTech, an interesting role reversal. Recalling how good he was, I had no hesitance. Since then, I have worked closely with Hart on several projects. He was a bright and warm scientist, very capable in this field and very pleasant to work with. I can say all the staff at BlazeTech felt the same about him. He will be greatly missed. We wish his wife and family our deepest sympathy for their loss.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Hart’s passing. He was a colleague and friend. I had many fond memories: watching Monday Nite Football, playing tennis, and having many technical discussions about turbulent flows and laser effects. It was a pleasure to have known him. Heartfelt condolences to Hart’s family. Despite his many achievements, he always remained humble and true to himself and everyone around him. His light will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
I have know Hartmut since for the past 11 years and I will miss seeing him. He was one of my favorite people and I always looked forward to talking to him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.
