Gregg L. McFarland's Obituary
Gregg L. McFarland, 52, of 598 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
Gregg was born on July 5, 1967 in Revere, Massachusetts to the late Francis J. and Frances M. (Lewis) McFarland formerly of Haverhill, MA. Gregg loved to compete in the Special Olympics where he won numerous medals. His love for music and sports was well known among all who knew him. Gregg was also very popular at local dances and never without one of his sports caps. He was a longtime member of Fidelity House and C.L.A.S.S., Inc. of Lawrence, MA. Gregg loved to travel. He was a regular fan of Flea Markets, Boston Sports Games, Canobie Lake Park, old time music stores and his annual vacations at Old Orchard Beach Maine. He will be missed.
Gregg was predeceased by his brother James F. McFarland formerly of Haverhill, MA, his sister Carolyn M. (Rollinson) Ladd formerly of Rochester, NH and his niece Julie McFarland formerly of Malden, MA. surviving members of his family include a brother, Floyd Rollinson and his wife Marie of Hilton, NY, his sister-in-law, Denise McFarland of Haverhill, MA, and his nieces: Kathleen Prunier and Denise Fitzsimmons of New Hampshire. Gregg is also survived by his best friend, James Williams of Lawrence, MA.
Services will be held privately at the Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill, MA. Memorial contributions may be made in Gregg’s name to either Special Olympics of Massachusetts, Fidelity House of Lawrence, MA, or to C.L.A.S.S., Inc. of Lawrence, MA.
