Gloria M. (Dunn) Thomas' Obituary
Gloria M. Thomas, 82, a loving WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT GRANDMOTHER and SISTER, passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born, raised and educated in Malden, MA and was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Doody) Dunn.
Gloria worked several jobs to assist her husband in raising her five children. She worked at CVS for many years, and was also a daycare provider until retirement. The most important job she held, which she took very seriously, was being a great mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren.
Nothing made our mother happier than being with, and taking care of her family. She was the matriarch in charge of all the family gatherings, and loved holding that role. Her hobbies including decorating for all the holidays, making gift baskets and assisting her husband in all his community activities.
Gloria is predeceased by her husband George, and survived by their five children, Brian and his wife, Barbara, of Londonderry, NH, Deborah Begley and her husband, Barry, of Methuen, MA, Kelly Fitzpatrick and her husband, Glenn, with whom she resided, of Danville, NH, Kathleen Potvin and her husband, Alan, of York, ME, and George Jr. and his wife, Christine, of North Andover, MA. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Shaun, Scott, Daniel, Katelyn, AJ, Kasey, Kayleigh, Tyler, Kylie, MacKenzie, Addisyn and Beckett. She was predeceased by her two brothers William Dunn and James Dunn. Gloria leaves behind her sister in laws Lorraine Dunn and Kathryn Dunn, as well as her niece Siobhan Dunn.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the John Breen Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, or to send an online condolence, please visit our website at: www.breenfuneralhome.com. Please note: “While in the funeral home; according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts guidelines, everyone must practice social distancing, in addition to wearing of masks.” A private funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main St. Bradford, MA and burial will be private.
The family would like to thank Linda Steir, Director of Senior Class Adult Daycare, and Ellen Parenteau, her loving aide for the end of her life, and friend for the last few years.
