Gilda "Izilda" Pavao's Obituary
Gilda “Izilda” Pavao, 81, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at the Hawthorne Hill Rehabilitation Center in Danvers, MA. Gilda was born and educated in Vila do Porto, Santa Maria, Azores Portugal on August 12, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Jose’ and Ilda E.(Freitas) Cabral. Gilda was a parishioner of Saint Michael Church in North Andover and worked for Nabisco for over 9 years as well as taking care of her family and their home.
Gilda’s joy in life was loving and taking care of her beloved husband and best friend, as well as her precious children and grandchildren. She also had great Joy in being a Host and always having family and friends to her home where she would bake Amazing Popovers and Unforgettable Cupcakes. According to her family she would always bring a dessert of some type to every function she attended.

Gilda’s family members include her son Paul Pavao and his wife Aline of Middleton, MA, her daughter Sandra Sipsey and her husband Bill of North Andover, MA. Gilda is also survived by her three grandchildren: Zac Pavao, Julia Pavao and William Sipsey and predeceased by her grandson Jacob Pavao. Her sister Maria F. Lima of Somerville, MA. as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated immediately following the calling hours at 11:30 A.M. in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery, 177 Salem St., also in North Andover. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 320 Nevada St, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
