Gertrude H. (Benewicz) Paradis' Obituary
Gertrude H. (Benewicz) Paradis, 100, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Lawrence General Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Lawrence, Gertrude was educated in the Lawrence schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She had at first worked in the area Textile Mills and then went on to work for W.T. Grants for more than 20 years. Gertrude enjoyed her home and her family. She was honored by the North Andover Board of Selectmen on July 4 of this year for turning 100 years old. Gertrude was the wife of the late Raymond Paradis to whom she was married for 54 years. Members of her family include daughters Barbara Albers and her husband Tom of Bradford, MA, Janice Stewart of North Andover, MA, Dorothy Currier wife of the late Dennis Currier of Haverhill, MA who passed away in 2013, and Pat Moore and her husband Charles of Edgewater, FL. Gertrude is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, and 1 cousin.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. in St. Michael's Church, North Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery, also in North Andover, MA. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA.
