Geraldine M. White's Obituary
Geraldine M. (McAvoy) White, 99, a resident of No. Andover formerly from Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away at her home on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
She was born in Lawrence on April 25, 1925 to the late Wilfred M. and Mary (Cantillion) McAvoy, she was graduate of Saint Patrick’s High School and furthered her education at the McIntosh Business School.
Geraldine worked in the Navy Yard during WWII and retired from the IRS in Andover, MA. She was a parishioner of Saint Patrick’s Church and a member of the Ladies Sodality. Geraldine was a member of the Ladies Hibernians, as well as volunteering at Saint Patrick Church for many years.
Gerry loved God, her country and her family above all. She loved all three fiercely. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family particularly in the summer at “the beach” in Wells, Maine. Her value of family was unmatched and something she instilled in the people she loved. She always beamed with pride and had the largest smile when sharing stories about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her unwavering love will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, No. Andover, Massachusetts. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway in Lawrence and Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Waverly Road, No. Andover, MA.
