George W. Pappas' Obituary
Mr. George W. Pappas, 76, a resident of Lawrence for most of his life and most recently of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 13th, 1936 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Aristedes and Katherine (Poulios) Pappas. George was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1953. He later graduated from the University of Mass-Amherst College. He was a parishioner of Saints Constantine and Helen Church in Andover, MA. George served in the United States Army during the Korean war. He enjoyed reading, history, sports, and especially spending time with his family. He was a big supporter of his family at their sporting events. His family members include his sisters: Angela and her husband Gunther Schug of Beverly, MA. and Bessie Kenney of Methuen, MA As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by his brothers John, Thomas, Harry and William Pappas. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Monday, January 7th, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
