Gabriel Vincent DiFilippo's Obituary
North Andover, MA – Gabriel Vincent DiFilippo (Gabe) of North Andover passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by his beloved wife, Mary (Cotter) DiFilippo, and their children. He was the son of the late Emilio and Mary (Fusco) DiFilippo.
Born in Lawrence, MA on October 2, 1937, Gabe was a devoted husband to Mary for 60 years, a loving father to Patricia, John, Julie, and Paul, and a proud grandfather—“Pa”. He was also a dear brother, uncle, and friend to many.
A proud alumnus of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1956, and attended Boston University. He dedicated 42 years of his career to Raytheon. Gabe touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor.
In retirement, Gabe enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Red Sox, gardening, and especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school plays. He found joy in life’s simplest moments. His wisdom, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Gabriel is survived by his wife, Mary (Cotter) DiFilippo of North Andover; his daughter Patricia Currie and her husband Jeff, and their daughter Emily; his son John DiFilippo and his wife Theresa, and their children Mark and Nicole; his daughter Julie; and his son Paul and his wife Kellie, and their children Mia, Jack, and Max and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Emilio and Mary (Fusco) DiFilippo, and brother David DiFilippo.
Family and friends are invited to the calling hours on Tuesday, June 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Breen Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover.
