Frederick Francis Conway Jr.'s Obituary
Frederick F. Conway Jr., 92, passed away peacefully Friday, February, 26th, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the son of the late Frederick F. and Margaret (McDonough) Conway. He was born on October 6, 1928 in Uxbridge, MA.
Fred joined the United States Army in 1946 and retired after 21 years of service at a rank of Sargent First Class. He then continued his career at Raytheon Company in Lowell, MA for 24 years before retiring. Our Dad loved shopping, especially when he could find all the best deals. He also loved to help anyone who he thought was struggling. He would be there whenever he was needed by his children or grandchildren. He loved to watch his sons and grandsons play baseball and talk to his daughters and granddaughters on the phone about everyday life.
He is survived by seven children. His sons, George Conway of Raymond, NH, Frederick III and wife Brenda of Methuen, MA, Thomas and wife Judith of Dracut MA, and Bernard and his partner Justyne Hodgen of Ayer, MA. His daughters, Denise and husband James B. Goujon of Haverhill, MA, Sara Conway of Methuen, MA, and Lisa Conway Hudson and partner Raymond Vaillancourt of Salem, NH.
He is also survived by his sister Marguerite M. Corliss of Lawrence, MA and 89 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, respectively. In addition, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Mary M. (Marchand) Conway, daughters Colleen and Sandra, two brothers Bernard and Bern, brother-in-law John M. Corliss, daughter-in-law Donna Conway, and grandson Scott Dietrich.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 8th, at John Breen funeral home located at 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA from 4-6pm. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 9th, at 10am at St. Mary’s Assumption Parish located at 300 Haverhill St, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
