To the Spires family. Sorry to learn that Fred "Fritz" passed away. He was a good man who I met over 25 years ago. I enjoyed his chats and I now value his wisdom and opinion on family and life as I have now my own family to raise.

my condolences goes out to the family of Mr. Spires. May the God of all comfort bring a measure of comfort to the family. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
Dear Jean, It was with sorrow, of course, to hear of Fred's passing, but it couldn't help but bring back some great and fun filled memories. He was such a great guy--with a huge heart and a gentle wisdom which I greatly appreciated as a young, and a little wild, man about Europe. I remember with fondness all the chats we had and his forbearance of my 60's era behavior and outlook. I will always cherish his memory and it was good to see the picture you posted with the trimmed beard--he looks so content and so "Fred." There is a great picture of Fred and Dad in Vietnam and Dad looks so ramrod and starched and Fred looks just relaxed--like he's on an outing with some buds on a Saturday--it's a great comment on his charm and centeredness. He'll always be in my memory and heart with fondness and gratitude for being there in an interesting and formative time. I also want to thank you for your graciousness and much love to all the family from ours. Much Love, Rick Shaefer
"When he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine, That all the world will be in love with night." --William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet May the memories you hold so dear be a source of comfort to you at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
