Frances G. Speller's Obituary
Frances G. (Etheridge) Speller, 85, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the Steward Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born in Windsor, North Carolina, Frances was educated in the Windsor Public Schools and a 1956 High School graduate. Frances had worked at I.T.T. Semiconductors for some 25 years retiring in the late 1990’s when it became B.K.C.
She had worked at the White Rose Laundry when she first came to the Lawrence area and then went on to work for the Cardinal Shoe Company. Frances had also worked for a while at Raytheon. She was an attendant of Third Baptist Church in Lawrence and also enjoyed bowling. Frances had been a member of the “Early Girlies” Bowling team at the old Stadium Lanes. She enjoyed watching bowling on television as well as crime dramas. Her favorites were Mannix and Kojak as well as Law and Order. She also loved watching the Boston Celtics and playing bingo
Frances was predeceased in death by her husband Joseph P. “Logan” Speller and her son Leon J. Speller and members of her family include her children: Ruth E. of Matthews, NC, Gwendolyn Speller and Bert P. Speller both of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Sutton of Hampton, VA, and Moncila Bridgett of Windsor, NC as well as 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
