Ernest R. Hatfield's Obituary
Ernest R. Hatfield, 88, a resident of Methuen, MA, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the High Pointe Hospice House surrounded by his daughters Jeanne and Kim as well as other family members.
The son of the late Ernest and Eva (Gallant) Hatfield, Ernest was born in Lawrence and educated in the Lawrence Schools. He was retired from Crown Cork and Seal in Lawrence where he had worked for over 10 years. Ernest had served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed horseshoes, 45’s and bowling.
Members of Ernest’s family include his son Richard Hatfield, daughters: Jeanne and her husband Robert Sandner, Kelly and her husband Richard Paradis, Kim and her husband Tom Swarbrick and Charlene Nutter. He is also survived by sisters Nancy Wareing and Muriel Gawrys, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ernest was predeceased by his sons Ernest and Thomas Hatfield, his siblings: Dorothy Gile, Richard Hatfield, Elaine Arsenault and Alan Hatfield as well as his grandson Aaron Barczak.
A Funeral service will take place on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the services from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made in Ernest’s name to the High Pointe House, 360 North St., Haverhill, MA, 01830.
