Ellen Frances Hermans' Obituary
Ellen Frances Hermans passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2021.
Born on November 10, 1961, Ellen attended Methuen Public Schools and graduated from Methuen High School in 1979. She had served in the United States Army from 1983 to 1989.
She was employed for seventeen years at Verizon Telephone Company where she became the first female repair technician in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She continued to serve the public as a personal assistant to private clients and volunteered at the Hope House in Bonita Springs. She is survived by her mother Rosemary Lynch Hermans, siblings Catherine McGurren and her husband Thomas, Mary Beth Hermans, James Hermans and Susan Hermans, nephew Sean Cairns and wife Samantha Silvera Cairns and niece Carly Bueno Hermans grand niece Layla Patricia Cairns. Ellen is predeceased by her father James A. Hermans.
Ellen enjoyed swimming, especially the butterfly stroke and she competed as part of the Lawrence YWCA swim team; her lifelong love of the water led her to the white sand and turquoise waters of southwest Florida where she resided at the Lime Tree Park of Bonita Springs. She is fondly remembered for her wit, intelligence, and generosity and will be missed by her many friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 21,2021 at 12:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 29 Barker St. also in Lawrence. Family and friends are invited to call prior to the services from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
