Eleanor F. Carpenito, 88
Eleanor passed away August 5, 2023. She is survived by her husband William J. Carpenito, and her sons, James and his wife Jane Carpenito of Salem NH, her son Michael and his wife Lisa of Nashua NH, and her son Francis. She also leaves behind her four beloved grandchildren, Samuel, Kathryn, Isabella and Michael.
She was predeceased by her father George Hale and mother Lillian, and her three brothers, Francis, John and William Hale.
Eleanor was born and raised in Lawrence MA until she and her family moved to Salem NH. She was throughout her life a loving and devoted wife and mother, active in local charities, including as an organizer of the statewide golf tournament to support the developmentally disabled. She was a political activist who served as a Representative in the Legislature and for many years represented the interests of law enforcement officers in the state capital. She is the former President of her state chapter as well as the national Order of Women Legislators (OWLS).
Her family would like to express our thanks to the staff of Salem Haven in Salem NH, who treated her with extraordinary care and kindness. Our family will always be grateful to them.
