Born on September 10, 1958, he was the son of the late Edward and Sophie (Smuss) Bortolino. A 1976 graduate of Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational and Technical High School, Eddy excelled in carpentry and went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps.
