Edith L. (LeBlanc) Michaud's Obituary
EDITH L. MICHAUD METHUEN: Edith "Dee" (LeBlanc) Michaud, 81, gained eternal rest into the arms of Our Dear Lord at home in peace and in the company of family on December 20, 2010 after a long illness. Born in Lawrence on February 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Jacqueline LeBlanc. She was raised in Lawrence and attended Sacred Heart School. She sang in her school choir. Dee worked as an OB/GYN Nurse for several area hospitals and was a compassionate caregiver for many local families. Her greatest job in life was being a military wife to the late SSGT. Joseph G. Michaud. Beside him, she stood proud and strong as he served our country with honor and respect. They traveled with their family in his dedication to the service for over 20 years. Her pride in life was her family which includes Stephen Michaud, his wife Teri and grandchildren Alex and Jordyn of Minnesota, Michael Michaud and his wife LaDonna of Salem, NH and Methuen, MA, their children Renee Despres and her husband Frankie, great-grandchildren Abigail and Raylynn of Nashua, NH, granddaughter Jennifer Boyer, and great-granddaughter Kaitlynn of Nashua, NH, granddaughter Dorian Chenevert and her husband Robert, and great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Dedrah, Dakota, and Kyle of Southbridge, MA, her daughter Jody Brown and her husband Steve, and grandchildren Tre, Tiffany, and Tabatha, and great-grandchildren Joslynn, Ryanasia, Jayden, Dewayne, and Dewaun of Ohio, her brother Wilfred LeBlanc, Jr. of Rochester, NY, her godchildren Ann Pomerlau of Methuen, and Susan Wante of Salem NH, and her lifelong friend Jeanette Adams of Methuen. She was predeceased by a beloved child, Miss Susan R. Michaud, and a granddaughter Miss Amy Carson. Our special thanks to Kathy Calagy who delivered Communion to Mom every Sunday and became a dear friend to our family. She leaves a deep hole in the heart of each of us. Her tenacity and strength to look obstacles in the eye and overcome them are a gift she has given to all of us. She will forever be treasured and missed. Following cremation, family and friends are invited to attended her Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. Burial will immediately follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. A solemn hour of respect will precede her Mass from 10 to 11 A.M. Flowers may be delivered directly to the church on the day of her funeral, or a memorial contribution may be made in her name to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, MA., 01843.
