Earl W. McGhee's Obituary
Earl W. McGhee, 85, a resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully at the High Point House in Haverhill surrounded by his family.
Born in Lawrence, MA on December 6, 1938, Earl was the son of the late Earl McGhee and Aurore (Lavigne McGhee) Kirkham. Earl was predeceased by his daughter Maryellen Loeschner
As well as his brothers William “Billy” McGhee and Robert “Bob” McGhee. He attended the Lawrence Schools where he played football. Earl enlisted in the Army and the Reserves until 1965.
In his professional life, Earl had worked as a floor installer for Messina’s Carpet and Home Depot. He took great pride in his oil painting, lawn care and his vegetable gardens.
Earl’s greatest compliment in life was his family. He was married to Lorraine (Meyer) of Methuen, MA for 62 years. Together they loved car rides to the beach and mountains. They also loved trips to Maine, bus rides to casinos, trips to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Las Vegas and their cruises. Earl loved his fur babies Fiber McGhee, Heidi, Lady, Sandy, Miss Gedman and Max.
He was always ready to help with a lending hand to whoever needed it. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Lorraine, Earl leaves a son Earl W. McGhee, Jr, and his wife Cindy and grandson Dylan of Pelham, NH as well as his daughter Heather McGhee Foulds and her husband Samuel Foulds of Derry, NH, his sisters Carol Carroll of Andover and Maureen Chadwick and her husband Ted Chadwick of Dracut, MA and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends are invited to call prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ear’s name to either the High Pointe House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA, 01830, or to the Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 Sarl Dr., Salem NH, 03079.
