Dorothy Y. (Shin) Blanchette's Obituary
Dorothy Y. (Shin) Blanchette, 82, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the M.I. Nursing and Restorative Center surrounded by her family. Born in Chan Ra Nam do, South Korea, Dorothy was educated in South Korea where she met her husband David Blanchette who was serving in the Army during the Korean War. She has been a resident of Lawrence for over 60 years. Dorothy has worked in the Food Services at both Dunkin Donuts as well as Raytheon. She had attended St. Patrick?s Church and her family was everything to her. Besides her husband of 60 years David A. Blanchette, members of Dorothy?s family include daughters Regina M. Toupin of Lawrence, MA and Kimberly J. Kaloudis and her husband Costa Kaloudis of Melbourne, Australia as well as her son Charles M. Blanchette and his wife Susan M. Blanchette of Pepperell, MA. She was also the mother of the late Cynthia A. Blanchette. Dorothy is also survived by her brothers: Ko Hee Shin of South Korea, Tay Hee Shin of Lowell, MA, and Young Hee Shin of Methuen, MA as well as 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday morning prior to the services from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
