Mrs. Dorothy (Shaw) Balabin, 94, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, September 21st, 2008 at the Wingate at Andover in Andover, MA. She was born in Bowdon Vale Altrincham, Cheshire England to the late Peter and Ada (Neild) Shaw and educated in the local schools of England. After marrying John Balabin in England, Dorothy came to the United States in the 1940's. She worked in Vinyl Sales at the Leggett and Platt Mills in Lawrence, MA. Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo. Wife of the late: Mr. John Balabin Niece: Barbara and David Johnson of England Grand Nieces: Belinda Johnson of England Vanessa and Carl Howarth of England Great Grand Nephew and Nieces: Aaron and Chelsie Howarth and Chloe Tyms of England Sister-in-law: Irene Batal of Lawrence, MA. Extended Family: Ellen Gioia, Jean Soucy, Helen Moschetto, Dotty Lozowski all of Methuen, Massachusetts and Their Families. Sister to the late: Hilda Neild Sister-in-law to the late: Helen Smolack Nieces and nephews: Carol, John, Steve, Michael, and the late Eileen (the Smolack Family) Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 at 6:30 in the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
