Dorothy (Dot) Melvin, 60, passed away on May 15th, 2026 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Despite her diagnosis, she lived life to the fullest every day, until the end of her life. Dot lived her whole life in Read Obituary
I met Dot in the seventh grade, we stayed in touch for a few years, but like many friends you had at that time you drift away doing your own thing. 40 years later, my daughter ends up working for her and her and I reconnect and It is if a day never went by. We joked about the old times, laughing about the stupid things we did in school, Dot was a forced to be reckoned with. She was the mama bear for her children. She was a A friend to everyone who came across her. The world is a lesser place without you in it, but you will always be remembered and thought of consistently you are and always will be my friend.
So many memories. I looked forward to the nights I worked the front desk when Dot was the supervisor. She was very compassionate and loving, and so easygoing, with a wit and humor that was contagious. I can still hear her laughter as we shared many humorous moments. She definitely lit up the room and was well loved by staff, children In her care, parents and her close group of coworkers. Rest in Peace, beautiful Dot.
