Dolores G. Kennedy's Obituary
Dolores G. Kennedy, 86, a resident of the Community Living Center at the V.A. Hospital in Manchester, NH, and formerly of Salem, NH, and Lawrence, MA, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. Born in Lawrence, Dolores was a graduate of St. Lawrence's Grammar School and Lawrence High School. She then went on to enter into the United States Coast Guard where she was a member of the Spars. While she was a member of the Spars, Dolores sang in shows with the likes of Sid Caesar, Victor Mature, and Howard Champion. She also went on to serve in the Army and then the Navy from which she retired. After the Navy, Dolores went to work for the Brockton Enterprise. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Members of Dolores's family include: a sister: Maureen J. Halloran of Salem, N.H. a brother: Mr. William D. Kennedy and his wife Helen of Lawrence, MA. 6 nieces: Kathleen Kennedy, Donna Kennedy Lamontagne, Patricia Kennedy, Maureen Halloran Scott, Jamie Halloran Piemonte, and Kelly Halloran Buckley. She is also survived by 6 grandnieces and 4 grandnephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA. Family and friends may call on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 2 to 4 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to The V.A.
